As some of my clients may know I am also an Imaging Technician for SyncCanine. SyncCanine offer a screening modality that can allows us to see inflammatory and neurological dysfunction that can be present in disease, illness and injury. We see this dysfunction, that correlates well with pain and discomfort in the dog, by looking at the body’s thermal patterns. The imaging requires no sedation and is just like having lots of photos taken with a regular camera – obviously it is not a regular camera but a clinical grade medical camera. The scans I take are then prepared and sent to SyncCanines team of veterinary surgeons who interpret them and create a full medical report for you, your vet and any para-professional that is working with your dog.
As an example of the technology I enclose Wilma’s report following a scan I undertook due to a lack of her usual enthusiasm on a walk.
Following a vet check rest was advised for her hock and metatarsal area and massage by Julie at K9 Bodyzone for the thoracic and lumber areas of her back was undertaken. A week later and Wilma was back to her usual self. But I do wonder if I had not given her the weeks rest and had not had the massage would something more sinister of developed?!
Tests showed no abnormalities with bloods or faecal matter so safe in the knowledge nothing untoward was going on for her weight loss her food was increased.
